Johannes Skudlik works as an international orchestra conductor.

Born in Munich and grown up in Barcelona he has conducted major symphony orchestras (including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment London, Prague Symphony, Ural Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Virtuosi Italiani, Munich Radio Symphony Orchestra, members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Münchner Rundfunkorchester) major concert halls such as Berlin's Philharmonie and Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, Shanghai Cultural Square, in Paris, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Neuschwanstein, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and most recently in Barcelona's Sagrada Familia.

Symphonies by Mahler and Bruckner, Tschaikowski and Berlioz (e.g. Strauß Alpine Symphony) as well as those of the Viennese Classical period, and choral symphonic make up Skudlik's core repertoire. Skudlik also appears as an opera conductor (La Traviata, Magic Flute, etc.) Since 2016 Johannes Skudlik is principal guest conductor of the orchestra "Symphony Prague".

As a concert organist, Skudlik has played on famous organs in Europe, America and the Far East (including Notre Dame Paris, Hong Kong Concert Hall, Frauenkirche Dresden, Cologne Cathedral, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Harvard University, Synagogue New York City, St. Stephen's Cathedral Vienna, Westminster Cathedral). Radio and television recordings for ARTE, Bayerischer Rundfunk, RAI uno and others. More than 30 CD recordings document his artistic work.

He regularly holds master classes at major teaching institutions such as the Gnessin Institute Moscow, the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory St. Petersburg, Wuhan University China, Valencia Conservatorio superior as well as in Sardinia and Sicily.

Skudlik is founder and artistic Director of "Bayerischer Orgelsommer" and "Euro Via Festival", which conceives and carries out cross-border projects in 10 European nations. After his recent debut in the Theatre La Fenice in Venice he has been appointed conductor of a 2023 CHINA - 16 cities - Concert Tour.

Johannes Skudlik, geboren in München und aufgewachsen in Barcelona,

Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (London), Prague Symphony, Virtuosi Italiani, Ukrainisches Nationalorchester, Ural Symphony Orchestra, Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Mitglieder der Berliner Philharmoniker sowie des Symphonieorchesters des Bayerischen Rundfunks) und gastierte in bedeutenden Konzertsälen wie der Berliner Philharmonie, Hamburgs Elbphilharmonie, Schanghai Cultural Square, in Neuschwanstein, Sagrada Familia Barcelona, in Paris, Moskau, Sankt Petersburg u.v.m.
Symphonien von Mahler, Bruckner, Tschaikowski und Berlioz (u.a Strauss Alpensinfonie) aber auch der Wiener Klassik sowie die Chorsymphonik bilden Skudliks Kernrepertoire. In letzter Zeit tritt er auch als Operndirigent auf (Zauberflöte, La Traviata etc.) und gab 2022 sein Debut im Teatro La Fenice in Venedig.
Seit 2016 ist Johannes Skudlik erster Gastdirigent des Orchesters „Symphony Prague“.
Er hält regelmäßig Meisterkurse an bedeutenden Unterrichtsstätten wie dem Gnessin-Institut in Moskau, Wuhan University China, Valencia Conservatorio superior und an Hochschulen auf Sardinien und Sizilien.
Als Konzertorganist spielte Skudlik in Europa, Amerika und Fernost an bedeutenden Orgeln (u.a. Notre Dame Paris, Hongkong Concert Hall, Frauenkirche Dresden, Kölner Dom, Suntory Hall Tokio, Harvard University, Synagogue New York City, Stephansdom Wien, Westminster Cathedral). Rundfunk- und Fernsehaufnahmen bei ARTE, Bayerischer Rundfunk, RAI uno und anderen. Mehr als 30 CD-Aufnahmen dokumentieren sein künstlerisches Schaffen.
Johannes Skudlik ist Gründer und künstlerischer Leiter des „Bayerischen Orgelsommers“ und des „Euro Via Festivals“, das grenzüberschreitende Projekte in 10 Nationen konzipiert und durchführt. Nach seinem Debut im Teatro La Fenice mit dem Nationalen Symphonieorchester der Ukraine wurde er zum Dirigenten einer 2023 CHINA - 16 Städte - Tournee ernannt.

Le sinfonie di Mahler e Bruckner, Tschaikowski e Berlioz (ad esempio la Sinfonia alpina di Strauss), così come quelle del periodo classico viennese e le sinfonie corali, costituiscono il repertorio principale di Skudlik. Dal 2016, Johannes Skudlik è direttore ospite principale dell'orchestra Symphony Prague.

Tiene regolarmente corsi di perfezionamento presso importanti istituzioni didattiche come l'Istituto Gnessin di Mosca, il Conservatorio Rimsky Korsakov di San Pietroburgo, l’Università di Wuhan Cina, Valencia Conservatorio superior nonché in Sardegna e in Sicilia.

Come organista da concerto, Skudlik ha suonato organi famosi in Europa, America ed Estremo Oriente (tra cui Notre Dame Paris, Hongkong Concert Hall, Frauenkirche Dresden, Cattedrale di Colonia, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Università di Harvard, Sinagoga di New York, Cattedrale di Vienna, Cattedrale di Westminster). Più di 30 CD e produzioni radiofoniche e televisive per ARTE, BR, RAI 3 documentano il suo lavoro.

Johannes Skudlik è il fondatore e direttore artistico del "Bayerischer Orgelsommer" e dell' “Euro Via Festival", che concepisce e realizza progetti transfrontalieri in 10 nazioni. Dopo il suo debut in Teatro La Fenice Venezia il fu nominato direttore concertatore per una 2023 CHINA - 16 città - Tournée.

EURO-VIA FESTIVAL

The EURO-VIA FESTIVAL was founded in 2005. The concerts are especially dedicated to organ music but also include choir and orchestra performances. In this context the Latin element VIA emphasizes the experience of a „wandering“ music festival along ancient pilgrim routes. In this way the Euro-Via Festival combines art-historically significant churches and places and brings about a lively intercultural exchange of artists, audiences and organizers.

2005, the first route of the European Organ Festival led from Bavaria along the historical Roman road „Via Claudia Augusta“ and ended, after the performance of 50 concerts with an overall audience of more than 10.000 in Venice as a great success. The following festival „Ways to Rome“ presented concerts Paris (Notre Dame), London (Westminster), San Sebastian, Toulouse, Munich, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Linz, Porto, Palermo, Verona and many more cities and culminated in 2008 in an organ festival week in Rome. In the years 2009 and 2010 the festival „Ways to Rome“ took place once again enlarged by some additional countries, concert halls as well as participating artists.

From 2011 on, the festival was focusing on the historic pilgrims route to Santiago de Compostela. After preceding concerts in Rome and Venice (San Marco), the Euro-Via Festival "from Rome to Santiago" put the main emphasis on Italy, Bavaria, the South of France, Portugal and Spain. Venues included Schloss Neuschwanstein and the Philharmonie Munich in Bavaria, the cathedrals of Lausanne, Toulouse and Porto, as well as the cities of Barcelona, Burgos, Leon and as a final the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

2017 saw the festival returning to Italy with performances taking place in Verona, Pienza and Rome and in 2018, the concert series includes performances of Jean Guillou's "La Révolte Des Orgues" at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Westminster Cathedral in London. In 2023 the 5th Edition of International Tuscan Organ Festival will be organized as well as the International Venetian Music Festival.
